To provide senior professional services, including providing direction to the stewardship team, and providing recommendations for decision makers within a natural resource program area. The primary role of the Stewardship Officer includes Forest Stewardship Plans (FSP), Resource Monitoring, Silviculture, Timber Supply Review, Strategic and Operational Planning, Land base Investments, Forest Health and Program Staff Management Budgeting. Job Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in natural resource management or equivalent as recognized by Forest Professionals BC. - Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a Registered Professional Forester, with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC). Note: immediately eligible for registration is defined as being able to transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to the FPBC within six (6) months of employment. Confirmation of registration/eligibility is required before an offer of employment can be made. - Minimum three (3) years experience managing multidisciplinary issues involved in natural resource management. (Silviculture, integrated resource management, timber development, or similar). - Minimum one (1) year experience supervising, mentoring, coaching, or training staff or teams. Preference may be given to candidates with - Two (2) or more years of experience in engaging with stakeholders regarding natural resource management. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
